Founded in 1851, as America’s first Y, the YMCA of Greater Boston strengthens the Greater Boston community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Early Education, Before, Afterschool & Summer Enrichment, Teen Employment, YMCA Achievers and Community Hub Schools

Meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of our young learners and, for our teens, providing employment, leadership development and opportunity to explore careers and higher education.

  • 8,400 youth thrived in early education, summer camp and before and afterschool programs
  • 12,000 teens mentored, employed and engaged in free enrichment programs

    • 143 cancer survivors took part in LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and the PINK Program
    • 8,358 teens participated in our Get Summer free summer membership for teens program Academies

In partnership with so many, the Y strengthens communities. Lasting personal and social change is achieved by making a collective investment of time, passion and resources.
